Please be aware of a company who trade under the name of Crimestoppers UK Ltd or Swann Security based in Darlington. They are using literature that has the logos from the Metropolitan Police, Home Office, Help the Aged and Crimestoppers and the authority for the use of these logos is being investigated. We have also received a complaint about the pushy nature of the salesman who called at a home in Northallerton which was followed by a phone call from the owner of the company the following day again being pushy and aggressively trying to sell. Until further investigations are concluded by Trading Standards into this company our advice is to politely decline any approach by this company and do not disclose any personal details or telephone numbers. Should you receive a visit or call from this company which you are unhappy with please contact North Yorkshire Police or North Yorkshire Trading Standards on their usual numbers.
